Furikake Fries!

My version (not that there's much to this recipe) of a dish by the same name served at YO!Sushi restaurants. Furikake is a generic term for "rice seasoning" and comes in many varieties. The particular one I used here contains: dried pollack, seaweed, salt, and sesame seeds. The fries are coated in a mild sriracha mayonnaise, drizzled with a little more mayo & sriracha mayo and topped with the furikake.

A very simple and quick comfort food for those nights you just can't quite bring yourself to cook but want something warm and a little spicy. Perfect for an evening on the sofa with a movie!

Furikake Fries

Prep Time: 2 mins

Cook Time: 20 mins (will vary depending on the fries you use)

Ingredients:

  • ½ tbsp. Sriracha (adjust this to your taste)
  • 6 tbsp. Mayonnaise + extra for drizzle
  • 2 Person Portion of French Fries
  • 2 tbsp. Furikake Rice Seasoning

Method:
  1. Pre-heat the oven and cook chips according to the packet instructions.
  2. Once cooked, place fries into a large bowl.
  3. Mix sriracha & mayo together in a small dish, add this to the fries (keep a little back for drizzling on top at the end) and mix gently to coat the fries.
  4. Transfer the fries to a dinner bowl, drizzle over the sriracha mayo and normal mayo, then sprinkle the furikake over the top. Enjoy!
